“Of course it’s me,” Xiao Yan replied with a confident holler. Its wings flapped as it flew towards the Lone-Footed Flame Crane.

“You arrogant whelp,” the Lone-Footed Flame Crane retorted, wings thrashing as it charged at Xiao Yan. The two birds engaged in a fierce aerial battle.

Before Qin Shu, the Flame Banner floated, ready to lend support to Xiao Yan at any moment.

Though Xiao Yan possessed a strong bloodline, he was ultimately only a fourth-rank demonic pet, a full major realm below the One-legged Fire Crane. Better safe than sorry.

But his worries proved unfounded.

Xiao Yan might have been only fourth-rank, but his superior bloodline, honed to perfection, made all the difference. Combined with his two divine abilities, Green Flame and Devour, he completely dominated the One-legged Fire Crane.

Seeing the ease with which Xiao Yan dealt with the One-legged Fire Crane, Qin Shu smiled. “Then let’s leave the next challenge to you as well.” He signaled Xiao Yan to stay close and approached the final pathway.

The Abyssal demon appeared in humanoid form but resembled a mountain of flesh. Its enormous, bulging eyes sat atop a bloated abdomen that emanated a suffocating stench. This entity was far beyond mere obesity; its massive frame dwarfed its pitifully small head, with the mouth alone occupying nearly two-thirds of its facial area.

Upon catching sight of this creature, Xiao Yan weakly protested, “Master, I can’t eat this thing. It’s too repulsive.”

“Heh heh heh!” Qin Shu retorted. “Then use your Green Flame to incinerate it.”

Feeling equally revulsed, he seized the moment while the mountainous demon was still a distance away. Swiftly unfurling the Five Directional Flags, he prepared to activate the Great Array of Five Elements.

The mountainous demon let out a furious roar, as if comprehending their exchange. Its colossal body writhed, and from within emerged countless black tentacles, each hardened like steel needles. These shot forth, sweeping towards the Five Directional Flags, Qin Shu, and Xiao Yan with terrifying speed.

“Stay away from me!” Xiao Yan snapped open his beak, unleashing a stream of azure flame. The shimmering, emerald inferno coalesced into a colossal pillar of fire, searing through the tentacles.

As soon as the tentacles touched the Green Flame, they ignited like dry kindling, quickly threatening to reach the mountainous demon itself.

In a desperate move, the demon severed its burning appendages, then opened its enormous maw, releasing a torrential wave of suction.

“All of you shall become my sustenance!” it declared.

It was a descendant of the Demon Race from the Demon Realm. Its true form wasn’t like this; however, as it consumed more and more Abyssal energy without fully digesting it, it had transformed into what was known as a flesh mountain demon.

The powerful force of its swallowing attack was indeed formidable, but not insurmountable.

Xiao Yan’s awakened innate ability was also focused on swallowing, and with a stronger potency than this flesh mountain demon, he faced it fearlessly.

Nevertheless, he genuinely didn’t want to eat this creature, finding it as repulsive as excrement.

Protected by his Five Directional Flags, Qin Shu remained impervious to all forms of magic, rendering the demon’s swallowing power futile against him.

“Swallow away, why don’t you.” Qin Shu looked at Xiao Yan and commanded, “Xiao Yan, lend me some of your flames.”

Amplified by the Green Flame, the Flameglow Banner released boundless True Fire, magnifying the power and quantity of the Green Flame several times over.

The flesh mountain demon couldn’t swallow everything indiscriminately. After consuming some of the Green Flame, it began experiencing indigestion.

The force of its swallowing dissipated.

It was at this precise moment that Qin Shu struck. Harnessing the power of the Flameglow Banner, he condensed the Green Flame into countless azure lotus blossoms, filling the entire space with their radiant beauty.

As the azure lotuses bloomed, they transformed into razor-sharp sword glares, launching a fierce assault from all directions towards the flesh mountain demon.

Yet, the resilient outer skin of the demon proved a formidable barrier against this onslaught of sword glares, constantly fluctuating to absorb the impacts and lessen the damage.

“It hurts, it hurts so much!”

Compared to the previous four, its intellect was significantly lacking, unable to even speak clearly.

The wounded demon hoisted its corpulent body, flesh mountains quivering as they engulfed its massive feet. Like a slithering mass, it charged towards Qin Shu, bearing down on him with sword-like intent.

Qin Shu inwardly marveled, What formidable defenses.

Nevertheless, its speed was sluggish; after all, its bulk was too great, moving like a mountain on the march. Its form was even more colossal than the thunder-scaled evil kui, exuding an overwhelming presence.

Before it could close the distance, Qin Shu had already set up the Five Elements Formation, awaiting its entrance.

The mountain of flesh, the demon, bellowed, “You can’t escape! You can’t escape! I’m going to eat you alive.” Effortlessly, it crossed the formation’s boundary, plunging into the heart of the Five Elements Great Array.

Qin Shu immediately transformed the formation, conjuring a combination of entrapment and killing arrays, ensnaring the mountain of flesh within.

He then led Xiao Yan out of the array and commanded it to breathe fire onto the trapped demon.

The Five Elements Great Array shifted to fire attributes, with Yan Guang, the flag of fiery radiance, becoming the array’s pivot. As the azure flame blazed upward, Qing Ping, the verdant blade, coalesced at the tips of Qin Shu’s fingers, intertwining with the array. Within the formation, azure flames condensed into lotus-like blossoms, each a fiery sentinel.

This time, the indigospirit was on an entirely different level from the previous incarnations of Greengrasp outside the formation.

Greengrasp transformed once more into a cascade of fiery streams, coalescing in mid-air to form the Heaven-Piercing Qingping Sword.
